Willard Joseph Fontenot

Funeral services were held for Willard Joseph Fontenot, 86, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 17. Burial followed in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Mr. Fontenot died Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. He was a retired Farm Bureau agent. He was also a U.S. veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Morein Fontenot of Ville Platte; two sons, Scott Fontenot and his wife, Shelly, of Baton Rouge and Andy Fontenot of Ville Platte; four daughters, Sherry Ardoin of Ville Platte, Marcia Tassin and her husband, Joey, of Tucson, Arizona, Annette Montgomery and her husband, Mike, of Lafayette and Amy Duplechain and her husband, Shawn, of Mamou; one sister, Lou Duplechain of Ville Platte; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fergus and Catherine Fusilier Fontenot; one son, Mitchell J. Fontenot; and one brother, Wallace Fontenot.
