ORELIA CARTER

Funeral services for Mrs. Orelia Carter will be held today, September 28, 2017 at the Ninth Baptist Church in Ville Platte at 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Orelia Tezeno Carter was born to the late Manuel and Celia Tezeno on April 28, 1954 in Ville Platte. Orelia accepted Christ at an early age at Ninth Baptist Church.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Norman Carter and this union was blessed with two children, Alexander Deal (Bethany Deal) and Travis Carter (Tempest Carter), both of Ville Platte, Louisiana.
She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and church member for more than 50 years. In addition to her children Orelia leaves to cherish her memory, nine grandchildren, Alexander Deal, Jr., Kaden Deal, Kadence Deal, Jace Miller, Dakota, Kyrionna, J’kylin, Jaiden and Harmony Carter, as well as, one yet to be born. She is survived by five brothers, Cloudray Tezeno of Vidrine, Tommy Tezeno (Sue) and Walter Tezeno (Marie) all of Ville Platte, Lester Tezeno and Lee Tezeno (Jessica) all of Pine Prairie; five sisters, Bertha Feeeman of Ville Platte, Mary Tezeno and Sovelia Ardoin, both of Pine Prairie, Anna Allison of Bayou Chicot, and Peggy Fontenot of Lafayette; one aunt, Laura Bell Stevens of Ville Platte; brother-in-law, O. L. Carter of Bayou Chicot, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and special friends.
Orelia was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Carter; parents, Manuel and Cecilia Tezeno and two sisters, Florence Richard and baby sister, Edna Tezeno.
Visitation was held today, September 28, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
