With much anticipation, the AP preseason top 25 poll was released this past weekend and the LSU Tigers garnered the No. 5 spot amidst their much awaited 2016 campaign.

Ville Platte attorney Richard Vidrine will be honored for his stellar career as a McNeese Cowboy gridiron player in an induction ceremony on September 17; a ceremony that came awfully close to never happening.

It was a game of mixed reviews for the New Orleans Saints as they began the preseason with a 34-22 loss to the New England Patriots in Foxboro Thursday night.

A funny game

Reflecting back on a season can be very difficult, especially if the season did not end exactly how it was planned out.
But, for head coach Delaney Fontenot and the Louisiana all-stars, their season was not a disappointment in any way, shape or form.

Johnson to compete at Jr. PGA

Pine Prairie native Julia Johnson will be competing in the Junior PGA Championship, to be held this week August 9-12, 2016 at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, Rhode Island.
Johnson is among 78 girls that will compete for this prestigious title.
