Panthers pounce

MAMOU – Like a big jungle cat, the Pine Prairie Panthers pounced on three early Mamou Demon miscues and converted them into points, as they rolled to a 42-8 District 5-3A win here Thursday night.

NEW ROADS -- Electricity was felt in the air and on the gridiron, as the Sacred Heart Trojans jolted the District 5-1A world with a resounding 53-27 win over the False River Gators here Thursday night. With the win the Trojans move to 4-0 on the year and 1-0 in league play.

On the right path

VILLE PLATTE -- If Friday night’s contest between the Basile Bearcats was a measuring stick for each team before heading into district, then the 42-14 Trojan win revealed a lot for both clubs.
