LeBas re-elected as vice-chairman of Rural Caucus
Gazette Staff Report
BATON ROUGE – Rep. Bernard LeBas, D-Ville Platte, has been re-elected vice-chairman of the Louisiana Legislative Rural Caucus.
Founded in 1979, the caucus has 72 members who are elected to the Legislature from largely rural districts across the state. Sixty-one are members of the House of Representatives and 11 are senators.
“We all share similar issues in our districts, so it pays to work together to achieve our goals.” LeBas said. “It’s important that we remind legislators who are not from rural areas that we have needs in our districts, too.”
LeBas will serve with Chairman Rep. Jack Montoucet, D-Scott, and Secretary/Treasurer Dorothy Sue Hill, D-Dry Creek.
