On Thursday, Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue reported that his department is in search of a suspect in a stabbing incident.
In a press release from the chief it states, “On September 29, 2017, at approximately 8:45 p.m. officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to Mercy Regional Hospital in reference to a stabbing.”
According to the release, “upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who stated that as he was attempting to break up a fight between two male subjects, one of the male subjects swung and hit him the neck area.”
The victim told authorities that “he then realized the suspect had a knife,” and he realized that he had been “stabbed in the neck.”
At that point, the matter was turned over to VPPD Detectives for investigation.
According to the release, “officers obtained the suspects information and an arrest warrant was issued for Sandress Calvin.”
The 32-year-old, of 1214 Martin Luther King Drive, Ville Platte, is wanted for aggravated battery.
Chief Lartigue asks anyone who knows of Calvin’s whereabouts to contact the VPPD at (337) 363-1313. All callers will remain anonymous.
