Turkey Creek woman charged in 15-month-old daughter's death

Sheriff’s detectives arrested a Turkey Creek woman Thursday on charges of causing the death of her 15-month-old daughter while under the influence of drugs, investigators say.

Ayla Marie Lynch, 22, of 1193 Happy Hollow, Turkey Creek, was charged with first degree murder. Investigators say she admitted to using rubbing alcohol to kill her infant, Brooklyne Mann, her third child, last April.

Investigators say she also attempted to cause the death of her first child, born in Mississippi, and had sold her second child in order to pay for crack cocaine, in Houma.

Lynch is scheduled for a bond hearing Wednesday, and she is being held in the Evangeline Parish Jail.
