Sacred Heart has another Fontenot slated to hit the hill for McNeese State University next fall.
Ace right-handed pitcher Conner Fontenot signed a letter of intent to play baseball for the Cowboys starting in 2017.

GRAMBLING - The Basile Bearcat season ended Friday night, as they fell to Lincoln Prep 41-12 here in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs.
The Bearcats could not contain the Lincoln Prep offense, as the Kittens racked up 322 total yards, including 261 yards on the ground.

RESERVE - In a game that saw 41 total penalties and a number of quick drives with big plays for defending state runner-up Riverside Academy, the Sacred Heart Trojans bowed out of the Division III playoffs with a 48-14 loss here Friday night.

The Sacred Heart Lady Trojan varsity cross country team recently won the District 5-2A crown and will now take their talents to the state cross country meet to be held on Monday, November 14 in Natchitoches at Northwestern State University. The team is coached by Stephanie Fontenot.

VINTON - In one of the closest games of the year for Mamou, the Demons fell to the Vinton Lions in a hard fought 24-20 loss.
Mamou battled the entire game, even taking a two-point lead into the locker room, something they had not done all season long.
