That is what it has come down to for the Pine Prairie Panthers (3-6, 2-4).
As it stood on Monday, Pine Prairie was the No. 35 team in the LHSAA power ratings. In Class 3A, the LHSAA takes the top 32 teams to the post-season.

With their win over Ascension Christian on Friday night, the Ville Platte High Bulldogs may have just cemented themselves into the 2017 LHSAA playoff picture.

Two things come into play for the Sacred Heart Trojans (7-2, 3-2) as they travel to Opelousas to take on the Westminster Crusaders in the final game of the regular and district seasons. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

One thing the Basile Bearcats know for sure, they will be in the post-season when the Class 1A brackets come out Sunday afternoon.

VILLE PLATTE – Most of the year the play of the Sacred Heart Trojan offensive unit has been getting all of the headlines. After all, the Trojans came into week nine averaging 37.8 points per game and had scored 40 points or more in five of the eight previous contests.

CHURCH POINT – Injuries and youth are not a good combination when a team is trying to beat the district leader late in the season.
Unfortunately, the Mamou Demons had to find that out the hard way, as they fell to the Church Point Bears here Friday night by the final score of 53-8.

If you would have looked at the Basile High win/loss record after the first four games of the 2017 campaign, you might have said it was going to be a long season for the Bearcats as they stood 1-3 overall.
