Mamou Police Department captured wanted man Shawn Daniels.
On October 14, 2015 the MPD received a copy of a warrant that had been issued on Daniels for aggravated sex assault on a child under the age of 14. Authorities believed that Daniels was residing in Mamou.

The official trick or treat times for Evangeline Parish have been released.
The cities of Mamou and Basile will hold trick or treating on Thursday, October 29. Mamou’s will run between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. while Basile’s will start at 5:30 p.m. and wrap up at 7:30 p.m.
