Cabot has announced a change in leadership at their Ville Platte Plant. Effective October 1, Facility General Manger, Mark Suellentrop will assume control of the company’s Canal Plant outside of Franklin, La. Replacing Suellentrop will be Wayne Bordelon.

A Eunice Fire Department captain, Garrett Daville, pleaded guilty to simple battery, a misdemeanor, Monday and was given one year of active supervised probation with a $30 per month fee for the probation officer, KATC reports.

EUNICE -- Barely a month into her new job as LSUE chancellor, Kimberly “Kim” Russell says her job is to turnaround a school where enrollment has slumped.
“LSUE has been on the decline since about 2010,” she said.
“That’s not unusual for most community colleges,” she added.

On September 30, Ville Platte bondsman James Bertrand, 70, was forced to bond his own self out of jail after being arrested by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Bertrand, who is also a bounty hunter, showed up at a man’s house who owed him money for being bailed out of jail.
