MAMOU - A Memorial Service was held for Joseph D. Fontenot Saturday, November 5, 2016, in the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou.
Fontenot, age 92, a resident of Mamou passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016.

Funeral services for Violet Iown Clopton Mitchell were held Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church, Bayou Chicot, with Reverend Wayne Holston officiating. Interment followed in Ferguson Cemetery.

VINTON - In one of the closest games of the year for Mamou, the Demons fell to the Vinton Lions in a hard fought 24-20 loss.
Mamou battled the entire game, even taking a two-point lead into the locker room, something they had not done all season long.

DELCAMBRE - The regular season came to an end Friday night as the Sacred Heart Trojans went on the road and defeated the Delcambre Panthers 48-27. With the win the Trojans evened up their overall 2016 record to 5-5 and improved their stock regarding playoff implications.
