Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was born near the end of the fourth century in the area of what is now Wales. He was the son of a Catholic deacon. He was 16 years old when he was kidnapped by a group of Irish pirates. He was taken to Ireland as a slave for a sheep farmer for six years.

The overall goal of in-room programs is to meet the needs of the residents who are confined to their rooms. Incorporating as many of the five senses - tactile, visual, auditory, olfactory and taste - helps to tie these sensory activities in with each person’s interests and previous occupation.

The primary message of the disciples was a message of hope and salvation. However, those who rejected the offer of salvation were given a message of judgement and damnation.

This week, we celebrate Mardi Gras on February 17, at 2 p.m. with a costume contest. The words “Mardi Gras” means Fat Tuesday. Dating back in time, the early Catholics celebrated and indulged until midnight.
