Turkey Creek’s mayoral drama will soon come to an end with the election Saturday, February 21, when residents will finally select their next mayor. On the ballot are Heather Miley Cloud, Republican, #170; and Bert K. Campbell, No Party, #169.

City sued for alleged cruel prank by detectives

A police officer who resigned after he says he was humiliated by a cruel prank by two detectives has filed a suit against the city.
The incident occurred March 18, of last year when the officer who resigned, Ethan Johns, came to work and was told the FBI wanted information from him.

Relay for Life changes time

The Evangeline Parish Relay For Life will be April 18, at the Ville Platte High School football field.
The committee announced that the gates will be open from 12 noon until midnight for this year’s relay, instead of 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., as was done in the past.

Ville Platte contracts outside company to collect delinquent taxes
