The Evangeline Parish Police Jury, during its committee meeting session Monday, February 2, voted to pay half the cost of a fire hydrant at the Mill Creek subdivision, off Chicot Park Road, after a discussion about the parish’s responsibility regarding fire protection costs.

Early registration has begun at the Mamou police station for the Mamou children’s Mardi Gras run that will take place Sunday, February 15.
Registration on the day of the run will be from 7 a.m. to 8:20 a.m. at the skating rink. The entry fee is $10 per child, up to $25 per family.
