The Chataignier Village Council learned of impending state sanctions that are possible if its sewer system is not repaired so that it treats sewage more effectively.

Harlem Ambassadors coming to town

Ville Platte man sentenced in truck stop robbery

United States Attorney Stephanie A. Finley announced that a Ville Platte man was sentenced to 46 months in prison for taking part in the armed robbery of a St. Landry Parish truck stop casino in which more than $11,000 was taken.

Local man cited for game bird violations

KLB accepting grant applications

Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s Healthy Communities grants program will be accepting grant application now until April 10, 2015. Non-profit organizations, youth groups, schools and municipalities are encouraged to apply. Grants vary from $1,000 to $10,000.

DeSelle added to state child predator registry with VP address

Phillip DeSelle, who was released from prison Thursday, January 22, after serving 24 years for the murder of 11-year-old Averie Grace Evans in Natchitoches, has now been added to the Louisiana Child Predator Registry.
