Swamp Pop Museum Director Janie Knighten has something you’ll probably want to get. Certainly by Monday, February 16 -- Lundi Gras. That’s when the museum will have its annual Swamp Pop reunion at the Civic Center. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m.

Juveniles charged in Doucet shooting

Franco Doucet, who was shot during the evening of December 16, was released from an Alexandria hospital Friday, December 9.
Ville Platte police were called to the scene of the East Beech Street shooting about 7:30 p.m. and found Doucet lying on the ground.

Christmas decorations come down at City Hall

City employees packed up the festive Christmas decorations at City Hall for another year on Thursday, January 8. The decorations will be put in storage space above City Hall until around Thanksgiving in late November.
