April 23, 1955 - August 16, 2016
MAMOU - Chapel services for Patricia Ann Fontenot, 61, were held Wednesday, August 17, 2016 Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou with Father Thainese officiating.
Fontenot passed away at Savoy Care Center in Mamou on August 16, 2016 at 3:25 a.m.

Due to the joint efforts of local law enforcement agencies-first responders, Evangeline Parish 9-1-1, as well as city and village leaders-employees, the historic flood that swept through the parish did not claim anyone’s life.

Hamlin retiring

Evangeline Parish Superintendent Toni Hamlin at Wednesday night’s board meeting announced that it was time for her to retire and leave the position that she has held for nearly 10 years.
In her closing comments, Hamlin read a letter that she had written to the board.

Oil man McDaniel passes away at 94

Friends and family gathered at Friendship Baptist Church on Tuesday to remember the life of 94-year-old oil tycoon Robert “Bob” McDaniel, who passed away on Sunday.

The engagement of Miss Abigael Rose Manuel to Mr. Joshua Lance Triplett, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Mike Triplett of Reddell, has been announced by their parents, Mr. & Mrs. Chad (Veronica) E. Manuel Sr. of Mamou and Mr. & Mrs. Mike (Lisa) Triplett.
