The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674, hosted its annual French Retreat at the Our Lady Queen of All Saints Family Life Center on Wednesday, March 9. Father Richard Vidrine led the retreat and celebrated mass in French.

Linda O’Neil was named Employee of the Month for March at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, and Leanna Gradney was named Resident of the Month. O’Neil has been employed with Heritage Manor as a CNA for many years and is very deserving of this honor. She is the mother of three sons and one daughter.

To help celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday, the staff and students of James Stephens Montessori enjoyed a week-long celebration February 29-March 4, with various themes each day, including silly hat day on Monday, silly sock day on Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday and pajama day on Thursday.

Members of Every Paw Animal Rescue (EPAR) were the guest speakers for the March 1 meeting of the Ville Platte Woodman of the World (WOW). Everyone enjoyed great company and meatball stew for supper.
