Sacred Heart travels to take on defending champs Notre Dame

A daunting task lies ahead for the 4-1 Sacred Heart Trojans tomorrow night, as they travel to take on the defending Division III state champion Notre Dame Pioneers. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

Another ‘Cat fight

After falling to the Opelousas Tigers 7-6 this past Friday, the Ville Platte Bulldogs find themselves in another cat fight, as they travel to Eunice to take on the Bobcats in the first action of District 5-3A. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

BASILE -- A valiant effort from the Basile Bearcats was not enough to carry them to their second win on the season, as they fell to Port Barre here Friday night by the score of 13-7.

Pine Prairie comeback fails against Tara

PINE PRAIRIE -- A late fourth-quarter rally fell short here Friday night, as the Pine Prairie Panthers dropped to 2-3 on the season with a 22-14 loss to Tara High School.
Pine Prairie took the first lead in the game, scoring on a touchdown late in the second quarter.

Ville Platte falls late to Opelousas, 7-6, in non-district game

VILLE PLATTE - The Ville Platte Bulldogs dropped a heartbreaking homecoming loss, 7-6, to the Opelousas Tigers Friday evening.

An “A” for effort

If the game against Opelousas Catholic was a test to see how far Sacred Heart has come over the last season and a half, then give the Trojans an “A” for their effort.

Basile looking for second win of season as they host Port Barre

It has just been one of those seasons for Basile in 2016. The Bearcats are now 1-3 on the year after a big 40-6 loss to Logansport this past Friday. But, head coach Kevin Bertrand knew that a slow start could be expected for Basile, especially having lost a ton of talent to graduation.

Mamou hoping to play free of mistakes against Oakdale

The Mamou High Demons have had their share of mistakes over the past four games. For example, Mamou has thrown interceptions that have been taken back for touchdowns in three of the four games played.

Pine Prairie hosts Tara as they close out non-district schedule

Coming off of a big win over inter-parish rival Mamou, the Pine Prairie Panthers will close out their non-district season at home Friday night when they host the Tara Trojans out of Baton Rouge. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
