After falling to the Opelousas Tigers 7-6 this past Friday, the Ville Platte Bulldogs find themselves in another cat fight, as they travel to Eunice to take on the Bobcats in the first action of District 5-3A. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

MAMOU -- It was a different week but the same result for Mamou as they lost at home to Oakdale 52-13 on Thursday night.

BASILE -- A valiant effort from the Basile Bearcats was not enough to carry them to their second win on the season, as they fell to Port Barre here Friday night by the score of 13-7.

PINE PRAIRIE -- A late fourth-quarter rally fell short here Friday night, as the Pine Prairie Panthers dropped to 2-3 on the season with a 22-14 loss to Tara High School.
Pine Prairie took the first lead in the game, scoring on a touchdown late in the second quarter.

If the game against Opelousas Catholic was a test to see how far Sacred Heart has come over the last season and a half, then give the Trojans an “A” for their effort.

It has just been one of those seasons for Basile in 2016. The Bearcats are now 1-3 on the year after a big 40-6 loss to Logansport this past Friday. But, head coach Kevin Bertrand knew that a slow start could be expected for Basile, especially having lost a ton of talent to graduation.

The Mamou High Demons have had their share of mistakes over the past four games. For example, Mamou has thrown interceptions that have been taken back for touchdowns in three of the four games played.
