Members of VFW Post #3803 and Cabot hosted its monthly resident barbecue meal on March 2. Thank you to the VFW for preparing the meal and Cabot for sponsoring the meal for the month. Standing in front, from left, are Maggie Ortego and Wayne Bordelon (Facility General Manager) with Cabot.

Opelousas Catholic will hold a color run on Saturday, May 28, at Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino. Registration includes a race bib, color packet, and t-shirt, but only if you sign up before May 13. You can pick up your items at the registration table the day of the event.

Dana Gore has been hospitalized and out of work for the past couple of months and has a long recovery period ahead. Her partner, Jerry, has also been out of work to care for her. A benefit motorcycle and jeep ride with several stops throughout the parish, is planned for Sunday, May 1.

Devin Paul Ardoin and Bentley James Ardoin, the sons of Jerad and Monique Ardoin of Ville Platte, celebrated their birthdays with a joint party at their home on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Devin turned eight on March 4, and Bentley will turn five on March 14.

Each year Velma Davis donates books to a class at James Stephens Montessori. This year, Ms. Anitria Jack’s class received the generous donation. The students were very grateful for the new books. Davis does this each year in conjunction with Dr. Seuss Week.
