VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for Rachel Ardoin, 48, will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church in Ville Platte. Burial will be in St. John Memorial Gardens. Rev. Eddie Edwards will conduct the funeral services.

Derouselle elected as 9-1-1 Chairman

Pat Derouselle was voted as the new Chairman of the Evangeline Parish 9-1-1-OEP Board.
The longtime secretary-treasurer of the board had been serving as interim chairman after the resignation of Kent Fontenot in May.

Audit report discussed at Pine Prairie meeting

PINE PRAIRIE – The Pine Prairie Council received good news concerning the village’s audit at their Thursday night meeting.
Auditor Shirley Vige with Vige, Tujague & Noel informed the council that there were no findings to report for their 2015 audit.
