Mayor Jennifer Vidrine handed out free pepper plants to people who drove past her, behind the Northside Civic Center starting at 11 a.m. Friday, June 6. Evangeline Feed Store provided the 1,113 hot, banana and jalapeno peppers.

Today, June 5, the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a call of a reported break in the 800 block of West LaSalle Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the suspect(s) gained entry into the building, causing damage both outside and inside the facility.
