The Evangeline Parish Community Coalition supplied five families this year with “Christmas Cheer” baskets. These baskets contained items that were non perishable but needed in any household. During the holidays, some families find it difficult to make some of these products last.

The Basile Housing Authority failed to deposit $4,600 which may have wound up in the possession of the agency’s assistant director, according to an audit report released Monday by Legislative Auditor Daryl Purpera’s office.

Governor Bobby Jindal visited Ville Platte Friday, December 27, at the Evangeline Parish Courthouse to bring good news, as Evangeline Parish will be receiving 14 generators thanks to a $1.2 million CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) grant.
