The Evangeline Parish School Board, during its meeting Wednesday, December 11, adopted a resolution to join a multi-parish lawsuit, originating from St. John the Baptist Parish, against the state for what the parish’s believe to be insufficient funding.

Due to a major water system problem in a portion of the Town of Mamou, Mamou Elementary school will be closed tomorrow (December 12, 2013). According to Mamou Mayor Ricky Fontenot, Mamou High will not be affected.

It’s beginning to look a lot like... Santa sleighing through the city hall lobby with a sleigh-load of presents for youngsters who have been nice, not naughty. The Christmas decorations at city hall include several trees with different decoration themes, and a decked out council meeting room.
