When the harsh winter weather settled into Evangeline Parish Friday, people began to get ready for spring flowers, thanks to the annual donation of daffodil and tulip bulbs by the National Bulb Distribution through the Louisiana Department of Transportation.

This truck skidded off the right side of the wet roadway on the 200 block of West LaSalle Street Friday morning, through a front yard and driveway and into a tree between two houses. Acadian Ambulance responded and the driver suffered minor injuries but declined to be treated.
