Evangeline Parish Solid Waste Commission reported that a backhoe from the Mamou dumpster site had been stolen.

The Mamou Police Department reported 41 recent bookings into the town jail. Arrested were the following persons:
•Darlene G. Thibodeaux, 1676 Mariaum Road, Mamou, was arrested on April 26, 2016 for forgery and theft.

EPSO Arrest Reports

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported nine recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons:
•Rodney Freeman Jr., 616 S. Soileau St., Ville Platte, was arrested on March 28, 2016 for simple burglary. Freeman’s bond was set at $45,000.00.

The LSU Lady Tigers showed just how far their program has advanced after rallying from a one game deficit in the Super Regionals to take a 2-1 series win over James Madison and advance to thier second Women’s College World Series in a row.

Funeral services will be held for Robert James Thomas, 64, of Ville Platte, at St. Luke Baptist Church in Vidrine at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 4. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Thomas died Saturday, May 28, 2016, at his residence.
