The Evangeline Parish School District has three state finalist in the running to become the State of Louisiana’s Teacher of the Year (TOY). The three teachers vying to be named State TOY must have all of their information turned in by January 29 to be considered for this honor.

Justice Edwards, left photo, was named Employee of the Month for January at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, and Sue Guillory, right photo, was named Resident of the Month. Edwards has been employed with Heritage Manor as a CNA for two years and was recognized for her outstanding job performance.

On Tuesday, December 8, the Mamou Elementary 4-H Club officers delivered over 1,200 non perishable food items to the Food for Families Food Drive at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. The club conducted the school-wide food drive as one of their Service Learning Projects for the year.
