The Trojans are hitting the road and won’t be back in Ville Platte until the playoffs, providing their earn a home game in the first round. For the first time since week two, SHHS will face a team that has won more than two games.

In District 4-2A, Mamou and Vinton are both looking for their first league win. Mamou is coming off of a tough outing against ninth ranked Welsh, while Vinton took a beating against fifth ranked Kinder.

Not since week three has Basile been tested in 2013. Class 1A’s fourth ranked squad has only been tested once and that was against St. Ed’s when Basile got a late score to win 29-22. That could change this week as the Bearcats host another hot Class 1A squad in East Beauregard.

After a second quarter, the Ville Platte Bulldogs went beast-mode in the fourth quarter Friday night, exploding for three touchdowns in one minute to cruise to a 42-12 win over their old rivals, the Oakdale Warriors.

In Pine Prairie, the Panthers were coming off of a big-time emotional win over the Mamou Green Demons. The Panthers had to entertain another team out of District 4-2A in the Vinton Lions.

When Sacred Heart and Mamou collided Thursday night, there was a lot on the line for the teams as far as the year is concerned. There was also a lot of emotions involved. Both of the teams needed to win to regain momentum and composure.
