MAMOU -- The most important thing on the Mamou High Demon’s mind this coming football season is to get into the win column.

On Friday, Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue reported that an inmate was captured after escaping from the city jail around 11:30 a.m. on August 18, 2017.
The inmate was Jordan Semien of 119 East Pine Street, Ville Platte.

The Evangeline Parish School Board received good news concerning its budget during the board’s meeting last Wednesday.

Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue recently reported the arrest of 18-year-old Nathan Thomas, Jr., of 1122 Edward Knotoe Thomas Street, for a shooting incident that occurred where one individual was hit by a bullet in the leg.

The Tee Cotton Bowl returns to Bulldog Stadium on September 1 after a four year absence, and it was the subject of this week’s meeting of the Ville Platte Chamber of Commerce and Evangeline Parish Tourism.
