Mardi Gras is celebrated each year on the day before Ash Wednesday. The French words “Mardi Gras” mean “Fat Tuesday.” Dating back in time, the early Catholics celebrated and indulged until midnight. King cakes are a part of the Mardi Gras tradition, as well as the gumbo.

The message of the early church was a straightforward message of repentance. The word means to change one’s mind for the better, to turn one’s back on sin. When genuine repentance takes place, the change in a person’s life is radical ad powerful.

We read in Malachi 1:1, “The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi.” What we see stated in the Book of Malachi is that the prophet was directed by God to warn the nation of Israel to turn away from their wickedness. All blessing to the nation had ceased from the Lord.

Since new health information comes out almost daily, seniors can be confused and overwhelmed by it all. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is of utmost importance. Residents often will not have an opportunity to experience cold and winter days because of the warm climate they live in.

Did you ever know someone that loved to criticize others? Normally, someone who criticizes others isn’t prejudicial, they will criticize friends as quickly as enemies. They love to find fault with others.
