Joseph Tony Johnson

Funeral services were held for Joseph Tony Johnson, 54, native of Mamou and resident of Marksville, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 3. Burial followed in the Jules Cemetery.

Waverlly Deville Doucet

August 3, 1930 - April 3, 2016
Funeral services were held for Waverlly Deville Doucet, 85, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 6. Burial followed in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

MAMOU – In 1946, not long after T-Ed and his brother Austin Manuel returned home from serving in World War II, the two Mamou natives and their other brother Ulyses opened Manuel Bar on the town’s famous 6th Street.
