Hickerson to celebrate 92nd birthday

Maxine T. Hickerson will celebrate her 92nd birthday with an open house in Ville Platte on Friday, November 27, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, November 28, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. She retired as a school teacher after 35 and a half years.

Catholic Daughters hold annual memorial mass

On October 10, Prairie Manor staff and residents showed support for the Savoy Cancer Center’s annual Cancer Walk and Run.

Employee and Resident of the Month announced

Tyra Ardoin, left photo, was named Employee of the Month for November at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, and Wanda Torres, right photo, was named Resident of the Month. Ardoin has been employed with Heritage Manor as an evening shift CNA for six months. She is very energetic and motivated.

Ville Platte Rotary Club installs new members

On Tuesday, November 3, the Ville Platte Rotary Club inducted three new members into the group during a special induction ceremony. Rotarian Wayne Vidrine stated it is the duty and responsibility of club members to welcome new members to the club and mentor them.
