Ville Platte Deputy Marshal Arthur Lee Phillips was arrested by Jeff Davis Sheriff’s detectives on Monday in connection with a prostitution incident that occurred over the weekend in Fenton, La.

The Ville Platte Police have arrested two individuals in connection to a shooting and armed robbery that occurred on March 19, 2017.
According to a VPPD press release, at the time of the incident “officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 600 block of East Jackson Street.”

The Ville Platte City Council played host to a packed and lively crowd at its regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening. City residents were focused on solving two pressing problems in the city: loitering and flooding.

The following individuals failed to appear in the Ville Platte City Court. Bench warrants have been issued by Judge J. Gregory Vidrine, for these individuals, for their failure to appear in court on traffic tickets and other misdemeanor charges for the month of April, 2017.

The Ville Platte Police Department reported nine recent bookings into the city jail. Arrested were the following persons:
• Jermaine Larnette, 40, 1612 Kembo, Ville Platte, was arrested on April 27, 2017, for Theft and remains incarcerated on a $500.00 bond.

BASILE -- During the special budget meeting held Wednesday, April 26, the Basile town council, mayor, and police chief settled on an amended budget for the Basile police department in order to keep the entity running for the remainder of the fiscal year.
