A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church for Milo Addison Nickel, Sr., 85, who passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. prior to the services.

On Sunday, an ICE detainee escaped from GEO Group’s Pine Prairie prison facility.
In a release from GEO Group, it stated that “two ICE detainees attempted to escape,” however only one was successful.
