The 2015 4-H Cotton Food Festival got off to a great start at the 21st Annual Cotton Festival 4-H Cotton Commodity Cookery Contest held Tuesday, October 20, at the Ville Platte Civic Center.

Heritage Manor celebrates Boss’ Day/Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Heritage Manor Nursing Home Administrator Trey Prudhomme was honored with a luncheon for Boss’ Day. The various department heads attended and put together the special meal.

Antioch Baptist Church honors cancer survivors

On Sunday, October 18, Antioch Baptist Church recognized members of their congregation who are cancer survivors. The church members acknowledge Cancer Awareness every third Sunday of the month by wearing the color pink.

Fontenot celebrates birthday

Tyner Gage Fontenot, the son of Scott Fontenot of Ville Platte, celebrated his third birthday with a party at Drouet Park in Turkey Creek on Friday, October 16. The party theme was "Jake and the Neverland Pirates." Grandparents are Michael and Patricia Fontenot of Ville Platte.

Employee and Resident of the Month announced

Denise Thomas, above, was named Employee of the Month for October at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, and Ammich Stagg, inset photo, was named Resident of the Month. Thomas has been employed with Heritage Manor as a CNA in the dementia unit for 17 years.
