Funeral services will be held for Johnnie James Guillory, 57, of Ville Platte, at the LaVille’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 6. Burial will follow in the Platin Cemetery.

Goodley found guilty of first degree murder

After approximately 30 minutes of deliberating, an Evangeline Parish jury found Christopher Bryant Goodley guilty of first degree murder. The verdict was reached unanimously by the 12- person jury.
Goodley was accused of killing his grandmother back in November of 2014.
