After an eight month wait for the people of Louisiana, Blue Bell Ice Cream has returned, and for B&S Grocery owner Scott Dupre getting the beloved ice cream back in his store was the perfect way to say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to his customers.

The senior quarterback helped lead the Bearcats to an overall record of 10-2 and a quarterfinal appearance. David passed for 540 yards and seven touchdowns this past season.

BASILE -- One of the most rewarding things to see as a fan is a player with a boatload of talent show himself to be one of the most humble players around.

BASILE -- If you asked any coach coming out of college what would be there dream job, a huge majority of them would tell you that it would be to become the head football coach at their alma mater.

The following individuals failed to appear in the Ville Platte City Court. Bench warrants have been issued by Judge Gregory Vidrine, for these individuals, for their failure to appear in court on traffic tickets and other misdemeanor charges for the months of December, 2015.

Last week, I wondered in this column about the origin of a woman named La Christiane who distributed gifts to Cajuns at Christmas time. That was about all I knew about her, and that little was based on an article that appeared in the Morning Advocate in 1980.

In August of 2007, Brett and Jennifer Fontenot welcomed their first child into the world, a little baby girl who they named Natalie. Jennifer recalled, “My first thought when Natalie was born was that she was so beautiful and cute. She was perfect.”

In our modern age, when events across the globe are communicated instantly, we are often saddened by things which bring great suffering to people. Acts of nature sometimes cause great suffering, but human cruelty is much harder to accept.
