Mrs. Elsie Rowell presented a program on the sandhill crane migration along the Platte River at the July meeting of the Beta Sigma Phi. The meeting was held in her home on Tuesday, July 1.

A couple’s shower was held on June 28, at AB Henderson in Lafayette to celebrate the engagement of Amy Elizabeth Richard and Jarid Cole Theriot of Maurice.

Ok, now that I’ve gotten my last weeks column topic out of my system I can move on to better things to talk about.

The home of Ricky and Madelene Boudreaux in Rayne served as the setting for a bridal luncheon honoring their daughter Malorie Elizabeth, who is betrothed to Tyler Earl Meche, son of Allen and Mona Kay Meche of Crowley.

Since school is starting soon, I figured it was time to get busy on the traditional back to school essay – My Summer Vacation.

A tool and pantry party was held on Saturday, July 19, in honor of Malorie Elizabeth Boudreaux of Rayne and Tyler Earl Meche of Crowley in celebration of their engagement. The Mexican Fiesta was held poolside at the home of Jessie and Jennie Baguex of Egan, aunt and uncle of the groom-elect.

William and Lillie Beasley of Morse are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Elizabeth B. Marshall to Derek “Sweet” LeBlanc, son of Rodney LeBlanc of Jennings and Noonu Bruney of Iowa.

The serenity of the St, Joseph Catholic Church provided a tranquil atmosphere for the unity of Amy Elizabeth Richard and Jarid Cole Theriot as husband and wife. The couple exchanged wedding vows during a 7 p.m.

Elizabeth Ann Maturin and André Cole Thibodeaux became husband and wife on Saturday, July 26, 2008. The couple was united in holy matrimony amid family and friends during a 1 p.m. nuptial mass at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice. Father Joe Breaux officiated the ceremony.
