The thought of working with the poor in society generally brings to mind Sister Theresa and her work in Calcutta, India. Now, to bring those thoughts of the poor a little closer to home.

Scotty Pousson (pictured) & Pointe aux Loop Playboys will perform at the Rendez-vous des Cajuns Cajun Music Radio & TV Show at the Liberty Theatre on Saturday, August 2 at 6 p.m.

Guest host for this show will be Terry Huval, leader of the Jambalaya Cajun Band.

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath was the setting for the Friday, July 18, 2008 7:00 p.m., Nuptial Mass uniting Kayla Michelle Janak and Jordan Michael Romero. Father Wayne Duet presided over the evenings ceremony.

St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice was the location of the July 26, 2008, 6 p.m. Nuptial Mass uniting Katie Michelle Cabrol and Ted Carl Villien. Presiding over the ceremony was Father Joe Breaux.

St. Peter’s Catholic Church was the site of the July 26, 2008, 2:00 p.m. wedding uniting Ashley Joan LeBlanc and Allan Beuron Hauser. Father Charles Langlois officiated the ceremony.

Jessica Lynn Hebert and John Bradley Ward were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Abbeville. Rev. Warren Langford was the presiding minister.
