Abbeville government switches phone services

The Abbeville City Council made the decision last week to switch from its current phone provider, AT&T, to Kaplan Telephone Co. for phone service to all city government buildings.

Undercover work nabs alleged steroid dealers

Two Eunice residents are among four persons arrested as a result of an undercover steroid investigation in Eunice, Opelousas and Krotz Springs.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday it has been investigating alleged steroid use at local gymnasiums and has identified about 100 users and 15 dealers.

BATON ROUGE – Governor Jindal announced Monday that two new laws will address classroom discipline problems, which he stated was a top complaint of teachers. According to recent surveys, Louisiana is the second worst in the nation in public discipline problems.
