Voters pass 1/2 cent hospital tax

The people in hospital District 2 voted yes to a new half cent sales tax that will be used to expand the emergency room at Abbeville General Hospital.

It passed 1,718 votes to 1,167.

Berzas playing Liberty on July 26

Grant will help tout St. Landry to retirees

A $20,000 grant will go a long way towards promoting St. Landry Parish as a retirement community, SLP Tourism Commission Director Celeste Gomez said at the Eunice Kiwanis Club’s meeting Thursday.
