CROWLEY – School is going to be approaching before long, and the children of Faith House are in great need. Battered mothers and their children turn to Faith House for safety, support, and empowerment.

Nite at the Rice to be held

CROWLEY – Crowley’s Nite at the Rice will be having it’s monthly variety at the Rice Theatre on Saturday, July 19.

State sales tax holiday

BATON ROUGE - Most consumer purchases for tangible personal property will be exempt from state sales tax during a two-day Sales Tax Holiday on August 1 & 2, 2008.

The holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 1, and concludes at midnight on Saturday, August 2.

Crowley earns re-certification

Couple unite in Lake Charles ceremony

St. Margaret Catholic Church in Lake Charles served as the setting for the double-ring, evening ceremony uniting Lacy Virgen and Travis Manceaux in Holy Matrimony.

The ceremony was held on April 12 at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Father Derek Covert officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Howard Virgen of Carencro and Paul “Chip” and Amanda Fruge of Eunice; and is the granddaughter of Rose Smith of Eunice and the late Norris Smith of Eunice and the late Clifford and Bonnie Virgen of Tunas, Missouri.

The groom is the son of Steven and Pamela Manceaux of Lake Charles; and is the grandson of Rodney and Jaynell Manceaux of Kaplan, Paul Montalbano of Lake Charles and the late Betty Montalbano of Lake Charles.

Candlelight ceremony unites couple

St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice served as the setting for the double-ring, candlelight, nuptial mass ceremony uniting Aimee´ Rose Guillory and Thomas Edward Tolar, II, in holy matrimony. The ceremony was held on May 2 with Father Cedric Sonnier officiating.

Parents of the bride are John and Bonita Guillory of Eunice; and the groom's parents are Thomas Edward and Theresa Bourgeois Tolar of Lawtell.
