CROWLEY – Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Woodlawn Cemetery for Azelia Stutes Breaux, 85, who died Wednesday July 9, 2008 in Crowley.

Mrs. Breaux was born June 20, 1923 in Crowley to the late Thomas Stutes and Alida Meaux Stutes.

LAFAYETTE – Two incumbents in the Acadiana area look to be challenged in the fall during elections.

CROWLEY – Funeral services for Leo Jackson, 86, who died Monday, July 7, 2008 at American Legion Hospital in Crowley, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Israelite Baptist Church in Crowley.

Officiating the services will be Rev. Ivan J. Lewis.

CROWLEY – Funeral services for Patricia Ann Golden Davis Krout, 61, who died at her residence on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Holy Temple Church of Deliverance. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m.

Cool and fresh in Henry

A few days ago I decided to try and beat the heat we’ve been having by packing an ice chest, and driving my mother and nephew, to the community of Henry. They were both familiar with the area and helped me navigate through the bayous and green sugar cane fields to the Circle V Market.
