Plans for exit hits snag

RAYNE – A planned new I-10 exit in East Rayne, which Rayne Mayor Jim Petitjean was hoping would bring new business to his city, may have hit a snag. Petitjean was looking for money to build the new exit which will be built near the proposed Frogland Water Park.

CROWLEY – To hear Glenn Stokes, owner of Mosquito Control Contractors Inc. (MCCI), say it, Acadia Parish has been pretty lucky. Acadia has had the fewest number, one, of West Nile indicators of all surrounding Acadiana parishes.

CROWLEY – Qualifying continues for the upcoming election which will be held October 4, 2008. Several local and parish positions will be up for grabs as candidates have until this Friday, July 11, at 5 p.m. to qualify for the office they are seeking.
