CROWLEY – The Crowley Professional Women’s Club held their monthly meeting at the Crowley Town Club on Thursday, June 19, to discuss the upcoming 2008 Miss Crowley Pageant to be held at the Historic Rice Theater on Saturday, July 26.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Dea Manuel, 100, will be Celebrated Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. The Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with The Revered Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrating.

Mrs. Manuel, a resident of Eunice, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2008 at her residence.

Roth Garcille, age 51, of Eunice, La., died Sunday, July  6, 2008, at his residence in Eunice.

St. Martinville – Qualifying opened Wednesday, July 9, for various political offices up for election Oct. 4, Clerk of Court Allen Blanchard announced.
