CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home in Crowley for Lailah Jane Schexnider of Crowley, 2 1/2 months, who died Friday, June 27, 2008 at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.

Father Avelino Vale will be officiating the services.

Baton Rouge — The state ban on drilling within a quarter of a mile of an interstate highway expired Monday, June 28, and in its place are 120-day emergency rules requiring rig operators to use blowout preventers at all times, and, when drilling within 1,000 feet of an interstate highway, to put state and local first-responders on notice.
