An alert night clerk foiled Monday what police belief was about to be the second armed robbery of a Eunice motel in the last two weeks.

Kenneth Richard Bennett, age 66, of Eunice, La., died Sunday, June 22, 2008.

Lawrence and Myrna Meaux celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary June 7, 2008. They were married in a ceremony at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in 1958. They have three children: Karl, Kent and Kristy.

The wedding uniting Jade Emily Abshire and Chad Brian LeBouef was held Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Crowley. The ceremony was officiated by Deacon David Vaughn.

Lauren Aline Hargrave and Troy Michael Landry were united in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony during a nuptial mass held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath on Friday, June 20, at half past seven in the evening. Father Wayne J. Duet officiated at the candlelight ceremony.

Casey Nicole Brown of Rayne and Justin Mark LeMaire of Cow Island will exchange wedding vows on June 27, 2008 during a 7:00 p.m. Mass at Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church on the UL campus.

Simone Beatrice Marie Mire and Francis James Cavalier were united in marriage during a Nuptial Mass on Friday, June 20th, 2008. The 7:00 p.m. ceremony was officiated by Father Kenneth Mayne at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville.
