GUEYDAN – Services for Frederick “Fred” John Zaunbrecher, 80, were held Monday, June 16, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Gueydan with Father Mitchell Guidry officiating. He died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at his Gueydan residence.

CROWLEY – The rise in gas prices that has been causing concern throughout the country is not just a problem for motorists. Several area businesses are feeling the pinch and which in turn is causing them to raise their prices.

The 2007 audit of the Vermilion Parish Police Jury was presented by Rob Carter of the local accounting firm, Kolder, Champagne, Slaven and Company, the highlights of the findings were given to the jury at the Finance Committee meeting.

The Iota High School class of 1944 held its class reunion on Saturday, June 7 from 4-8 p.m. at Fezzo’s Restaurant in Crowley.
Much visiting and reminiscing was done and updates of family members and friends were given while members of the class had a dutch treat meal and drinks.
