A terrorist will be taking the field this afternoon inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

I was all ready to walk out my front door but my daughter had apparently made other plans that particular morning.

A little over a week ago, a coward with a gun walked into a Lafayette movie theater and reigned terror on mothers, daughters, husbands and sons. The actions of John Houser resulted in the deaths of LSU-Eunice student Mayci Breaux and Lafayette resident Jillian Johnson.

My belief is that each life you come into contact with will in someway impact the person you become and for me my two brothers have greatly shaped who I am today.

The stars and bars may be finally fading into history. But that doesn’t mean that racism -- whether it is the out-in-the-open variety or the kind that festers behind closed doors -- is going away anytime soon.
